Vitinha is a Portuguese central midfielder who plays for Paris Saint-Germain and the Portugal national team. His full name is Vítor Machado Ferreira, but he is widely known by his football name, Vitinha.
A technically refined and highly intelligent midfielder, Vitinha controls matches through his positioning, passing and ability to retain possession under pressure. He can operate as a deep-lying playmaker, central midfielder or advanced number eight.

Vitinha’s season at Wolverhampton provided his first experience outside Portugal, although the English club did not activate its option to sign him permanently.
He returned to Porto and produced an impressive 2021/22 campaign, earning a major transfer to PSG. His initial role in Paris was relatively conservative, but he developed into the tactical and technical reference point of the team under Luis Enrique.

Vitinha is a technically gifted central midfielder who can operate as a number six, number eight or deep-lying playmaker. He is most influential when positioned at the base of midfield, where he can control possession and determine the speed of his team’s attacks.
His greatest quality is his awareness before receiving the ball. Vitinha constantly scans the pitch, adjusts his body position and prepares his next action before possession reaches him. This allows him to play quickly and escape pressure in congested central areas.
