Maghnes Akliouche is a French attacking midfielder and winger who plays for Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team. A technically gifted left-footed creator, he is known for his close control, intelligent movement between the lines and ability to create chances from the right half-space.
Akliouche joined PSG from AS Monaco in August 2026 after developing into one of Ligue 1’s most highly rated attacking players. Born in the Paris region, the transfer brought him back to his home area and added another technically versatile French attacker to PSG’s squad.
He developed through Monaco’s academy before making his Ligue 1 debut in 2021. His progression was gradual, but increased playing time allowed him to establish himself as an important creative player and eventually attract interest from PSG and several major Premier League clubs.
At international level, Akliouche represented France throughout the youth categories and helped the country win a silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. He subsequently progressed into the senior France team and was selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Akliouche spent almost a decade within Monaco’s system after joining the academy in 2017. His development from academy player to senior international continued the club’s strong record of producing technically gifted attacking talent.
His move to PSG followed considerable transfer interest during the summer of 2026, including approaches from Premier League clubs. The French champions ultimately secured his signature on a five-year agreement.
Akliouche is a left-footed attacking midfielder who is particularly effective from the right side. He can operate as a traditional right winger, number ten or advanced number eight depending on the tactical structure around him.
He is not primarily a winger who relies on explosive straight-line speed. Instead, Akliouche uses close control, changes of direction and intelligent positioning to manipulate defenders and move into advantageous central areas.
His preferred starting position is often the right half-space. From there, he can move inside onto his stronger left foot, combine with central attackers or play progressive passes behind the defensive line.
Akliouche is particularly comfortable receiving between opposition lines. His first touch and awareness allow him to turn quickly before accelerating an attack, while his ability to protect possession makes him effective in congested areas.
He also offers strong creative output. Akliouche can play through balls, disguised passes and combinations around the penalty area while also carrying the ball directly towards defenders.
At PSG, his versatility should allow him to interchange with several attacking players rather than remain fixed to one position. His technical profile fits particularly well within a possession-oriented system that encourages rotations between midfielders and forwards.
