Karim Adeyemi is a German winger and forward who plays for FC Barcelona and the Germany national team. One of the fastest attackers in European football, he is known for his explosive acceleration, direct running and ability to attack space behind defensive lines.
Adeyemi joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in July 2026, signing a five-year contract until 2031. The move reunited him with Hansi Flick, the coach who handed him his senior Germany debut in 2021.
His development pathway included Bayern Munich and Unterhaching at youth level before he moved to Red Bull Salzburg in 2018. After establishing himself as one of Austria's leading young attackers, he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and spent four seasons in the Bundesliga.
At international level, Adeyemi progressed through Germany's youth teams and helped the U21 side win the European Championship in 2021. He made his senior international debut later that year and scored in his first appearance.

Adeyemi's development at Salzburg transformed him into one of Germany's most highly rated attacking prospects. His goalscoring performances in Austria convinced Dortmund to invest around €30m in him in 2022.
He made 146 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions, scoring 36 goals and providing more than 20 assists before entering the final year of his contract.
Barcelona took advantage of his contractual situation in the summer of 2026, securing him for a significantly lower guaranteed fee than Dortmund had originally paid.
Adeyemi is primarily a right winger but can operate from the left side or as a centre-forward. His extreme pace is the defining characteristic of his game and allows him to threaten defensive lines in ways few attackers can match.
He is particularly effective when space opens behind the opposition. Adeyemi positions himself aggressively on the shoulder of defenders before accelerating onto vertical passes and through balls.
As a left-footed player, he can start from the right before moving inside towards goal. From the left, he can attack the outside channel and use his pace to reach crossing or finishing positions.
Adeyemi also carries the ball extremely well at high speed. His acceleration makes him dangerous during transitions, where he can move possession from midfield into the penalty area within seconds.
His finishing is another important quality. He can strike powerfully with his left foot and regularly looks to attack central scoring positions rather than remaining permanently wide.
At Barcelona, his speed provides a different attacking profile within a possession-oriented team. He can stretch defensive lines vertically, create space for midfield creators and offer an immediate threat when Barcelona regain possession.
