Savinho, full name Sávio Moreira de Oliveira, is a Brazilian winger who plays for Manchester City and the Brazil national team. A direct and technically gifted attacker, he is known for his acceleration, one-on-one dribbling and ability to create opportunities from either flank.
Savinho joined Manchester City from Troyes in 2024 following an outstanding loan season with Girona in La Liga. He quickly became part of City’s attacking rotation and demonstrated his ability to create chances through progressive carries, wide combinations and individual actions against defenders.
His career began with Atlético Mineiro in Brazil before he moved into the City Football Group structure through Troyes. Loan spells with PSV Eindhoven and Girona provided important European experience, with his breakthrough in Spain establishing him as one of the most exciting young Brazilian attackers in Europe.
At international level, Savinho represented Brazil at youth level before making his senior debut in 2024. He subsequently featured at the Copa América and became part of Brazil’s wider attacking group.

Savinho’s season at Girona was the decisive stage in his European development. He became one of La Liga’s most productive young wide players and played a major role as Girona unexpectedly challenged Spain’s traditional leading clubs.
Manchester City subsequently brought him directly into their first-team squad rather than sending him on another loan. His long-term contract extension reflected the club’s belief in his potential despite strong competition for attacking positions.
By August 2026, significant Premier League interest had developed around Savinho, with Tottenham Hotspur pushing strongly to sign him. He remained officially contracted to Manchester City at the time of publication.
Savinho is a winger capable of operating naturally from either side of the attack. He is particularly dangerous when receiving possession wide and being given the opportunity to isolate an opposing full-back.
His greatest strength is his dribbling. Savinho uses rapid touches, body feints and changes of pace to unbalance defenders and create space either towards the touchline or inside.
He possesses excellent acceleration and is particularly effective during transitions. When space opens ahead of him, he can carry possession over significant distances and move his team rapidly into the attacking third.
Savinho is also a strong creator. He regularly reaches positions from which he can deliver crosses, cutbacks and passes across the penalty area, making chance creation an important part of his attacking contribution.
His ability to play from both sides makes him tactically flexible. From the left he can attack defenders on the outside or move centrally, while from the right he can combine with midfielders and create overloads around the penalty area.
The main area for further development is his finishing. Increasing his goalscoring output would help transform him from a high-level creator and dribbler into a more complete elite attacking player.
