About

Luis Díaz is a Colombian winger who plays for FC Bayern Munich and the Colombia national team. Known for his acceleration, dribbling and relentless attacking movement, he primarily operates from the left but can also play through the centre.

Born in Barrancas, Díaz began his professional career with Barranquilla FC before establishing himself at Junior. His performances earned him a move to FC Porto in 2019, where he developed into one of Portuguese football’s most dangerous attackers.

Díaz joined Liverpool in January 2022 and won the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time in England. He moved to Bayern Munich in July 2025 and helped the club win the Bundesliga and German Cup in his first season. For Colombia, he was joint-top scorer at the 2021 Copa América and helped his country reach the 2024 final.

He is represented by AS1, the international agency group launched in December 2024. His career progression has taken him from Colombian domestic football to leading clubs in Portugal, England and Germany.

Díaz’s move to Porto provided his entry into European football. His performances in Portugal and at the 2021 Copa América accelerated his rise before Liverpool secured his signing midway through the following season.

He left Liverpool after 148 competitive appearances and 41 goals, having won every major domestic trophy available in English football.

His Bayern transfer opened another stage of his career, with the German club recruiting an established international capable of contributing immediately across the front line.

Playing profile

Díaz is primarily a left winger who likes to receive wide, face his opponent and attack with the ball. Predominantly right-footed, he can cut inside towards goal or accelerate down the outside to reach crossing positions.

His dribbling combines close control with sudden changes of speed and direction. He is particularly dangerous when isolated against a full-back, using quick touches and body movements to create room for a shot or forward run.

Without the ball, Díaz repeatedly attacks the space behind defenders. His diagonal runs from the left create opportunities to receive inside the penalty area, while his movement towards the far post provides an additional finishing threat.

He can also operate centrally. His mobility allows him to rotate with other forwards, stretch the defensive line and open space for teammates arriving from deeper positions.

Díaz brings considerable energy to the defensive side of the game. He presses defenders, follows runners and reacts quickly after possession is lost, making him well suited to teams that demand intense work from their attackers.

His effectiveness comes from combining individual flair with direct movement and sustained effort. He can create danger through a dribble, a run behind the defence or a quick exchange around the penalty area.
