Quenda’s development included time at both of Lisbon’s major academies before his senior breakthrough at Sporting.
Chelsea secured the agreement well ahead of his arrival, giving him another season of senior experience in Portugal before the move to England.
The long-term contract reflects the club’s investment in his development and potential to become an established player across its wide attacking positions.
Quenda is primarily a winger who combines acceleration with close control. He is comfortable receiving near the touchline, facing a defender and using quick changes of direction to create space.
From the right, his stronger left foot allows him to move inside and combine with central teammates or threaten goal. He can also attack down the outside, making him difficult to contain when isolated against a full-back.
His experience as a wing-back adds another dimension. He understands the physical demands of covering an entire flank and can contribute to defensive recovery as well as attacking transitions.
Quenda offers direct ball carrying and can advance possession through individual actions. His low centre of gravity helps him change direction quickly, while his confidence encourages him to take on opponents.
He is most effective when given opportunities to receive in space and attack unsettled defenders. As he develops, greater consistency in his final pass, crossing and finishing will help turn his attacking involvement into more goals and assists.
