Charalampos Kostoulas is a Greek forward who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion and the Greece national team. Primarily a centre-forward, he can also operate as a second striker or attacking midfielder and is known for his movement, physicality and ability to attack the penalty area.
Kostoulas developed through Olympiacos’ academy and made his senior breakthrough during the 2024/25 season. He quickly became one of the standout young players in Greek football, scoring regularly in the Super League and contributing to Olympiacos’ domestic double.
Brighton signed him in the summer of 2025 for around €35m, making him one of the most expensive Greek players ever. His first season in England was used largely for adaptation, but his role increased significantly during the 2026/27 campaign.
At international level, Kostoulas progressed through Greece’s youth teams before breaking into the senior national team. His combination of Premier League experience and strong physical development has established him as one of Greece’s most valuable young players.

Kostoulas’ move to Brighton represented one of the biggest outgoing transfers in Greek football history.
His performances during the 2024/25 campaign convinced Brighton to invest heavily despite his limited senior experience. The club viewed his age, physical profile and attacking versatility as particularly suited to long-term development in the Premier League.
His transition has been gradual, but his increasing involvement during the 2026/27 season suggests he is moving from developmental prospect towards an established Premier League attacker.
Kostoulas is primarily a centre-forward but can also operate as a second striker or attacking midfielder behind a more traditional number nine.
One of his biggest strengths is his movement inside the penalty area. He regularly attacks spaces between centre-backs and looks to arrive quickly onto crosses and cutbacks.
He possesses good physical strength for his age and is comfortable competing directly with central defenders. His 1.85m frame also gives him a useful aerial presence.
Kostoulas is more mobile than a traditional target striker. He can drop into deeper positions, link play and then accelerate forward to attack the box.
He also contributes strongly without possession. His work rate and willingness to press defenders make him suited to teams that defend aggressively from the front.
Technically, he is comfortable receiving with his back to goal and combining through short passes, while his finishing continues to become more composed as his senior experience grows.
