Bazoumana Touré is an Ivorian winger who plays for Newcastle United and the Ivory Coast national team. Primarily operating from the left, he is a powerful and explosive attacker known for his acceleration, one-on-one dribbling and ability to carry the ball over long distances.
Touré developed through the renowned ASEC Mimosas academy before moving to Europe with Hammarby IF in 2024. An outstanding season in Sweden earned him a move to TSG Hoffenheim, where he quickly adapted to Bundesliga football.
His development accelerated significantly during the 2025/26 campaign. Touré recorded five goals and nine assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances as Hoffenheim finished fifth, before Newcastle United signed him for approximately €50m in July 2026.
At international level, Touré made his senior Ivory Coast breakthrough in 2025 and represented the country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring three times as the team progressed to the knockout stages.

Touré’s rise through European football has been exceptionally fast. He moved from Ivory Coast to Sweden in 2024 and required only one Allsvenskan season to earn a Bundesliga transfer.
Hoffenheim paid approximately €10m for him in February 2025 and saw his value increase several times over within 18 months.
His performances during the 2025/26 season attracted significant Premier League interest, with Newcastle ultimately investing around €50m to bring him to St James’ Park.
Touré is primarily a left winger but can also operate from the right side or as a wide midfielder.
He is naturally left-footed but is particularly dangerous attacking defenders directly rather than functioning only as an inverted winger. His acceleration allows him to push the ball beyond opponents and win races into open space.
One of Touré’s defining qualities is his progressive carrying. He can receive possession deep and move the team forward rapidly, making him highly effective during attacking transitions.
His one-on-one ability is another major strength. Touré uses changes of pace, quick touches and body movement to isolate and eliminate full-backs.
He also creates effectively from wide positions. His nine Bundesliga assists during the 2025/26 season demonstrated significant progress in crossing, cutbacks and decision-making after beating his defender.
Touré has the athletic profile required for Premier League football. He combines explosive pace with strong running capacity and reached speeds close to 36 km/h during his time in Germany.
His next developmental step will be increasing his goalscoring output while maintaining the creative production that made him one of the Bundesliga’s most dangerous young wingers.
