Total Football Agency (TFA) is a long-running Brazilian–Dutch agency founded by Richard Mettes in 2005, specialising in building career paths from Brazil to European and Middle Eastern clubs. With offices in São Paulo and the Netherlands, TFA focuses on technically gifted players and increasingly on defenders and goalkeepers who can adapt to European football.
The agency manages both senior professionals in first divisions (PSV, Al-Jazira, Radomiak Radom, Floriana) and a pipeline of U20/U23 talent at clubs such as Palmeiras, Corinthians, Botafogo and Grêmio Novorizontino.
TFA differentiates itself through long-term development, close family relationships and strong use of video analysis and highlight production to position clients for international moves.

Polish Ekstraklasa side Radomiak Radom signed left-back João Pedro from MLS side Charlotte FC, with Charlotte retaining a significant sell-on clause.
TFA operates as a full-service football agency, following its own “total football” concept of balancing the player’s technical development, physical preparation and personal life.
Main services include:
Career planning and long-term pathway design (Brazil → Europe / Middle East)
Contract negotiation and re-negotiation (salaries, bonuses, buy-out clauses, sell-on structures)
Domestic and international transfers / loans
Image management, media support and social media storytelling (highlights, reels, interviews)
Sponsorship and commercial opportunities for senior players
Relocation support for moves to Europe and the Gulf (housing, language, day-to-day support)
Specialist physical preparation and injury-prevention support through in-house staff
Support with visa, work-permit and regulatory issues via local legal partners
Dutch top-flight ecosystem via PSV and Eredivisie contacts, including Heracles Almelo.
UAE Pro League links through Al-Jazira and Bruno’s emergence as a UAE international.
Brazilian clubs such as Ituano, Palmeiras, Corinthians, Botafogo, Novorizontino and others involved in client pathways.
Central European networks via Radomiak Radom and lower-tier Portuguese clubs in client histories.
External specialists: sports lawyers, tax advisors, physical coaches and video analysts engaged on a case-by-case basis.
Total transfers completed:
At least 8 documented international or inter-club moves since 2023, including deals for Mauro Júnior (contract extensions at PSV), Bruno (renewal at Al-Jazira), João Pedro (Charlotte → Radomiak), Vitinho (Palmeiras → Novorizontino loan), Kauã Vinícius (to Académico de Viseu), Thiago (to Crown Legacy) and Cioletti (to Floriana).
Deals ≥ €10m:
No publicly disclosed transfer fees ≥ €10m, but Mauro Júnior’s current market value around €17m means any future move could easily enter eight-figure territory.
Clients in top-5 leagues:
Currently 0 in Europe’s “big five” leagues, but regular representation in strong first divisions like the Eredivisie, Ekstraklasa, UAE Pro League and Maltese Premier League.
National team clients:
Bruno represents the United Arab Emirates at senior level; several players have youth-national-team backgrounds, including Mauro Júnior with Brazil youth teams.
Renewal/extension deals:
Includes Bruno’s 2021 contract extension with Al-Jazira and PSV’s extensions of Mauro Júnior’s deal through 2025 and later 2029.
TFA’s philosophy is rooted in the idea of the “total footballer” – combining technical quality, tactical intelligence, physical robustness and emotional stability. Official communications and social channels stress balance between body, mind and off-pitch life, with regular storytelling around players’ personal journeys rather than only statistics.
Scouting is heavily video-driven: the agency curates highlight packages on platforms to present players to clubs worldwide, often long before they break into senior squads. This is particularly visible for prospects like João Pedro, Kauã Vinícius and others, whose dedicated highlight videos are published by TFA-linked channels.
Negotiation-wise, TFA tends to structure deals that leave room for sell-on clauses and upward mobility, as seen in João Pedro’s transfer to Radomiak with a substantial sell-on retained by Charlotte.
TFA does not publicly publish a fixed commission table. Like other licensed agencies operating under the FIFA Football Agent Regulations, it is expected to work within the current fee-cap framework – typically:
Up to 5% of a player’s annual fixed remuneration on the first USD 200,000 of salary and 3% on amounts above that when representing the player or the engaging club.
Up to 6% in total in cases of dual representation (player + engaging club).
Up to 10% of transfer compensation when representing the releasing club.
In practice, football agents often operate in the 3–10% range of a player’s gross salary, depending on seniority, deal complexity and whether commercial agreements (sponsorships, image rights) are also involved.
There is no public evidence of TFA engaging in aggressive or atypical fee structures beyond these regulatory norms.
Disciplinary actions / sanctions:
No publicly reported FIFA, KNVB or FA disciplinary sanctions specifically targeting Total Football Agency or Richard Mettes were identified.
Litigation / disputes:
No high-profile litigation involving TFA has surfaced in open media. This does not exclude the possibility of minor contractual disputes, but nothing notable is on record.
Media sentiment:
Coverage around TFA is limited but generally neutral to positive – focused on player stories and on-field performance rather than controversy.
No major public awards or industry prizes for Total Football Agency are currently recorded. The agency’s recognition is primarily through its verified status on major football databases and its track record of placing Brazilian talents in reputable first-division environments.
