Epic Sports welcome Mohamed Zongo
Epic Sports have announced a new signing on the representation side, welcoming Mohamed Zongo to the agency. It’s the kind of addition that fits Epic’s recent trajectory: high-upside talent, early career mapping, and a clear “next steps” approach under founder Ali Barat.
Who is Mohamed Zongo?
Zongo is a Burkinabè attacking midfielder born 26.11.2009, listed at 1.83m, currently associated with Sporting Football Cascades, and already involved with Burkina Faso U17. He’s a left-footed creative profile, the type scouts track early because he can receive between the lines, play in tight spaces and turn moments into end-product.
Zongo was signed by BlueCo, which owns Chelsea and Strasbourg, so the player is likely to join the Fench side when he reaches his 18th birtday.
Why this fits Epic Sports’ direction
Epic Sports are built around a boutique, high-touch model and have become increasingly visible at the top of the market under Ali Barat, including major awards recognition Golden Boy 2025 and 2023. Young additions like Zongo are about more than a name on a roster – they’re about pathway, network and timing.
Epic’s roster momentum: the Kluivert brothers
Epic have also recently added Justin Kluivert and Ruben Kluivert, showing how the agency is balancing established top-league names with emerging talent. They also represent Nicolas Jackson, Denzel Dumfries or Tomas Araujo.
Ali Barat also acted as an intermediary for transfers of Moisec Caicedo to Chelsea, Noni Maduek to Arsenal or Xavi Simons to Spurs.
What happens next
For Zongo, this is the starting point: development planning, the right competitive environment, and a long-term route that avoids rushing the jump too early. For Epic, it’s another signal that their talent pipeline is expanding fast. As per FIFA regulations (FFAR), a player from non-EU country can't be transferred to any EU team, unless there are special occasions (parents moving abroad for non football related matters).
We also covered Epic Sports in a separate feature, focusing on Ali Barat interview with Fabrizio Romano and Epic’s wider strategy – from major transfer-case insights and the agency’s operating model to its Brazil push (“Epic Future”) and the new 22-player “Epic 22” concept.
