Epic Sports client Jackson heads back to Chelsea

Epic Sports Agency by Ali Barat client Nicolas Jackson is set to return to Chelsea this summer, with new manager Xabi Alonso expected to assess the striker after his loan spell at Bayern Munich.

Jackson, represented by Ali Barat, left Chelsea last summer after a difficult final period under Enzo Maresca. Chelsea had originally planned on keeping the 24-year-old, but his relationship with Maresca deteriorated and the Bayern loan became the solution.

Now the situation has changed again. Maresca is no longer the head coach, Xabi Alonso has arrived, and Jackson is expected back at Cobham for a fresh evaluation.

Bayern will not trigger the clause

Bayern Munich have already decided not to activate the €65m purchase option in Jackson’s loan agreement. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that decision publicly, meaning the Senegal international is due to return to Chelsea when the loan formally ends.

That does not automatically mean Jackson will stay at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea and the player’s camp will assess the market, Alonso’s plans and the striker’s role before a final decision is made.

But the key point is that the door is not closed. Under Maresca, Jackson’s Chelsea future looked damaged. Under Alonso, he at least gets a new technical assessment.

His Bayern season was useful but not decisive

Jackson’s Bayern loan was not a failure, but it also did not force the German club into a permanent deal.

He played mainly as Harry Kane’s back-up and still delivered useful numbers. Public stat feeds list him at 22 Bundesliga appearances, seven goals and one assist. In the Champions League, he added three goals in 10 appearances. Across all competitions, he finished with around 33 appearances and 10 goals.

He also picked up a Bundesliga title with Bayern, scoring in the 4-2 win over Stuttgart as the club sealed another league crown. That matters for his profile. Jackson returns to Chelsea with another major trophy on his CV and a year of experience inside one of Europe’s most demanding clubs.

What Alonso has to decide

Xabi Alonso’s assessment will likely focus on three things: Jackson’s finishing level, his tactical fit and his mentality after a difficult Chelsea exit.

Jackson has qualities that modern coaches like. He presses well, runs channels, attacks space and can play with intensity. He is not a static No.9. That could make him useful in Alonso’s system if Chelsea want forwards who can move, rotate and stretch defences.

The question is whether Chelsea see him as part of the squad, a saleable asset or a player who needs another move to rebuild rhythm. His contract runs long, until 2033, so Chelsea do not have immediate contract pressure. That gives the club control, but it also means any interested club would need to deal with a serious valuation.

Ali Barat’s role becomes important again

This is another important file for Ali Barat and Epic Sports. Barat helped manage Jackson’s move from Villarreal to Chelsea, then the Bayern loan, and now the next decision could shape the striker’s prime years.

The agency angle is not just about finding a buyer. It is about finding the right sporting context. Jackson needs a club where he can play regularly, feel trusted and sharpen the final-third side of his game.

If Alonso likes him, Epic Sports will have to manage a Chelsea reintegration. If Chelsea decide to sell, Barat will need to position Jackson as a proven Premier League and Bundesliga striker with Champions League experience, not as a player simply returning from a loan.

A new chance or another transfer file

Jackson’s Chelsea story is not finished yet. The Bayern loan changed his environment, gave him a title and kept him active at elite level. Now Alonso’s arrival changes the Chelsea context.

For FootballAgencies readers, this is a classic agency-driven summer situation: a high-value striker, a new manager, a major club returning him from loan, and an agent with strong market leverage across England, Germany and Spain.

The next step will depend on Alonso’s view. If Chelsea see a role, Jackson could get a second chance. If not, Epic Sports and Ali Barat will have another major summer file to manage.
