Denzel Dumfries is now “EPIC”
Epic Sports have confirmed that Netherlands and Inter defender Denzel Dumfries has joined the agency, led by founder Ali Barat. Announcing the move on Instagram with the line, “There’s only one outcome. Denzel Dumfries is EPIC.”, the deal marks another high–profile addition to a client list that is quickly reshaping the agency landscape.
For Dumfries, it is a strategic step at a key point in his career – a Champions League tested, title–winning right–back in Serie A, and a regular difference–maker for the Dutch national team. Also, Epic Sports is shaping new era of marketing and how they announce their new clients. You can check their epic video below.
Denzel Dumfries – from Sparta Rotterdam to Inter and Oranje mainstay
Dumfries has taken a non-traditional but impressive route to the top.
Born in Rotterdam in 1996, he came through the Dutch system outside the usual Ajax–PSV–Feyenoord orbit, earning his way up via Sparta Rotterdam before moving to Heerenveen and then PSV Eindhoven. At PSV, his mix of pace, power, and relentless attacking runs from right-back turned him into one of the Eredivisie’s most dominant full-backs and attracted attention from across Europe.
His move to Inter elevated him to the very highest level. In Milan he has established himself as a modern wing-back who can attack the back post, overload the right flank and chip in with goals and assists.
He played a key role in domestic title challenges and deep European runs. Enhancing his reputation as a big-game player, especially after standout performances for the Netherlands at major tournaments.
At international level, Dumfries has become one of Oranje’s most instantly recognisable figures – all intensity, lung–busting runs and emotional leadership on the pitch.
Why Dumfries is a perfect fit for Epic Sports
A profile that matches Epic’s ambition
Epic Sports, founded by Dubai–based agent Ali Barat, has built its rise on handling complex, high–value deals at the top of the European market. The agency has been involved in some of the most talked–about moves in recent windows, including major Premier League transfers and high–potential talents across Europe.
In November, we covered how Ali Barat and Epic Sports collected the Golden Boy 2025 Best Agent trophy in Turin, underlining his status as one of the most influential new faces in the industry.
Adding a player of Dumfries’ calibre – an established starter at Inter and a key piece for the Dutch national team – fits perfectly with Epic’s focus on players operating at the very top level.
Strengthening Serie A and big–club footprint
Dumfries gives Epic Sports an even stronger foothold in Serie A and among Champions League regulars. For a player in his prime, representation by an agency that is regularly in the room for some of the biggest negotiations in European football can make a big difference, not only in contract talks but also in long–term career planning and structuring the next contract at Inter or elsewhere.
Inside Epic Sports’ wider strategy
Golden Boy award and Globe Soccer nomination
Epic’s momentum has been clear throughout 2025. Alongside the Golden Boy Best Agent 2025 award, Ali Barat was also named among the Globe Soccer Best Agent nominees for 2025, alongside giants such as Jorge Mendes, Fali Ramadani, Federico Pastorello and Frank Trimboli.

Partnership with Deloitte Legal Italy
Epic Sports is also investing heavily in its infrastructure. Earlier this year the agency announced a strategic partnership with Deloitte Legal Italy, designed to support its global expansion with deeper legal, regulatory and deal–structuring expertise in a key football market.
Another big name after Justin Kluivert
Dumfries is not the only high–profile player to choose Epic Sports recently. Earlier this year, Justin Kluivert also joined Ali Barat’s agency, reinforcing Epic’s growing presence among attacking talents with international pedigree.

What this means for Dumfries’ next chapter
A change of representation does not automatically mean a transfer is imminent. Often it is about preparing for the next phase – new contract talks, image rights, commercial deals, or simply having a team that fits the player’s ambitions and personality.
