Palmer Commits His Future to Chelsea
Cole Palmer, represented by CAA Base, has strengthened his commitment to Chelsea by signing a new contract until 2034.
The agreement adds one year to his previous deal and includes improved terms recognising his importance at Stamford Bridge. The renewal was reported by David Ornstein and continues Chelsea’s work to secure key players for the long term.
For the 24-year-old, it is another significant milestone since moving from Manchester City in 2023. Regular first-team football at Chelsea helped turn Palmer from a promising academy graduate into an England international and a central figure in the club’s attack.
“Chelsea Means a Lot to Me”
Palmer expressed his confidence in Chelsea’s direction after signing the agreement.
“Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I'm delighted to sign and I’m obviously very happy”.
He also offered a clear endorsement of the manager:
“I am also so happy to have Xabi Alonso as manager. I am very confident”.
That support gives the renewal a sporting dimension beyond its financial terms. Palmer is committing to the team Alonso is building and to his own place within it.
Chelsea have previously outlined Alonso’s plans for Palmer and Morgan Rogers, with the manager seeking to get the best from two creative players who already share a strong relationship.
Four Goal Contributions in Five League Games
Ahead of Chelsea’s scheduled match against Bournemouth on 10 October, Palmer had registered two goals and two assists in five Premier League appearances during the 2026/27 season. He started all five games, providing four direct goal contributions in the opening league fixtures.
Those early returns follow a 2025/26 league campaign in which he recorded 10 goals and one assist in 26 appearances, according to Opta Analyst’s player profile.
The improved contract reflects Chelsea’s continued belief in his ability to shape matches through scoring, chance creation and decision-making in the final third.
The Agency Angle: CAA Base’s Long-Term Relationship
Palmer’s representation through CAA Base connects the renewal to an agency that has supported him since his Manchester City development years. His FootballAgencies profile identifies Mark Rankine as his main representative.
The agency’s leadership includes Leon Angel and Frank Trimboli. The FA’s published transaction records also list Trimboli in connection with Palmer’s earlier Chelsea contract update during the 2024/25 reporting period. That establishes involvement in the previous renewal, rather than confirming who led this latest negotiation.
For Palmer’s representatives, the new agreement demonstrates how career management continues after a major transfer. Securing a first-team opportunity was one stage; ensuring his contract reflects his growing importance is another.
With improved terms and an additional year agreed, Palmer enters the next phase of his Chelsea career with both financial recognition and an explicit commitment to Alonso’s project.
