Morgan Rogers could be heading for an agency change
According to Total Villa (X account), Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers could be in the process of changing agents ahead of the summer, with his family understood to be in talks with CAA Base. The same report says CAA Base are viewed as a more established option than his current representatives, Footwork, and notes the agency also represents Rogers’ friend Cole Palmer.
That does not automatically mean a transfer is coming, but agency changes at this stage of the season usually raise attention because they can shape how a player’s next contract, commercial profile, or market positioning is handled.
Why CAA Base would be a major move
CAA Base are one of the most influential agencies in English and European football, led by senior figures including Leon Angel and Frank Trimboli.
CAA Base have long operated at the top end of the market, combining contract work, transfers and wider player career strategy. For a player like Rogers, joining that kind of platform would be seen as a step into a more heavyweight representation structure.
His current agency: Footwork’s boutique model
Rogers is currently with Footwork Management, a smaller London-based agency that describes itself as a boutique talent management and sports marketing agency with a “talent first mentality” and bespoke service model.
That contrast is part of what makes this story interesting. Footwork represent a more personalised, smaller-scale setup, while CAA Base offer a bigger global machine with deeper Premier League and elite-market reach.
What it could mean for Rogers
At this stage, this is about representation, not a confirmed move. But in football, agency switches can matter because they often happen before one of three things: a major contract negotiation, a stronger commercial positioning push, anad potential transfer window where elite interest is expected
That is why the report is attracting attention around Rogers ahead of the summer, even without any formal transfer talks being confirmed yet.
The immediate question is whether the talks with CAA Base become formal and Rogers officially leaves Footwork. If that happens, it will be read by many in the market as preparation for a significant summer around one of Aston Villa’s most valuable young assets.
