Rangers open talks for Skov Olsen

Glasgow Rangers have opened discussions with VfL Wolfsburg over a deal for Andreas Skov Olsen, according to Florian Plettenberg. The 26-year-old winger was not included in Wolfsburg’s squad against Bayern Munich, with Plettenberg reporting he was not injured and is “ready for a new chapter”.

Skov Olsen’s contract at Wolfsburg runs until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would require Wolfsburg to green-light either a significant permanent deal or a structure that suits their financial plans.

Who is Andreas Skov Olsen?

Skov Olsen is a left-footed right winger (also comfortable across the front line), born 29.12.1999 in Denmark. He first built his reputation at FC Nordsjælland before earning a move to Bologna, then became a major attacking figure at Club Brugge.

Wolfsburg signed him from Brugge in January 2025, on a long-term deal through 2029.

The agency angle – MB Sports ApS and a growing Scotland footprint

Skov Olsen is represented by MB Sports (founded by Michael Bolvig), the Danish agency that has managed a number of Scandinavian careers across Europe.

MB Sports already have a visible footprint in Scotland through two clients: Julius Eskesen (Dundee United) and Jamie McGrath (Hibernian).

That matters because it signals existing relationships and market familiarity in the SPFL, which can smooth the path when a big-name move becomes realistic.

This is still a developing story, but the key signals to watch are straightforward: whether Rangers’ talks progress from “opened” to a concrete proposal, and whether Wolfsburg are willing to negotiate despite Skov Olsen being under contract until 2029. If the player is truly “ready for a new chapter”, the next days should clarify whether Rangers can turn interest into a deal.
