Man City agree £20m Guéhi deal with Palace
Manchester City have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace to sign Marc Guehi for £20m, with bonuses and a sell-on clause included in the package. Palace have been open to a deal with Guéhi’s contract nearing its final months, and the structure is designed to protect Palace’s upside if City move him on in the future.
Why City moved now
City’s push has been framed as a January solution driven by defensive availability (Gvardiol and Dias both injured), with Guehi offering an immediate Premier League-ready centre-back option. With his contract running down, the £20m price point reflects Palace’s reduced leverage compared to a summer window bidding war.
The agency angle – Unique Sports Group and Will Salthouse
Guehi is represented by Unique Sports Group (USG), one of the most influential football agencies in the UK market. USG’s client list also includes Anthony Gordon, Malick Thiaw and Ethan Nwaneri, underlining the agency’s footprint across Premier League and elite European talent.
USG’s leadership in the UK is headed by Will Salthouse, listed by the agency as CEO & Founder, and widely regarded as a key figure in the firm’s growth. USG was formed via a merger that created a larger multi-market representation group, and it has since strengthened its commercial position with strategic investment.
With club terms reported as agreed, the remaining steps are final documentation and player-side formalities before City can announce the signing. If completed as expected, Guehi joins for 5.5 years as a high-level domestic addition – and another headline deal involving USG’s top-tier Premier League client roster.
